The Banquet will take place at the Waterfront Restaurant and Cafe:
The plan is for most of the group to get there via the fast ferry, which leaves Tiburon at 5:50 and arrives at the Ferry Building in San Francisco at 6:10. The ferry is a good way to see the scenic San Francisco Bay. Those who do not wish to take the ferry can take the bus there. The return to Tiburon and nearby hotels will be by bus.
The Waterfront is located within easy walking distance of the Ferry Building, and is very close to the Embarcadero center, San Francisco's Business district. The Waterfront is right on the Bay, with a beautiful view of the Oakland Bay Bridge. Using the same model as the renowned Chez Panisse, the Waterfront has a more reasonably priced cafe downstairs, and a considerable pricier restaurant upstairs. Inside the Waterfront, the AMTA group will be hosted in the cafe area inside "the tent", a glass-enclosed structure that juts out over the Bay, and is heated by overhead heaters. The tent can seat 100+ people relatively comfortably ; an overflow of up to 40 people can be accommodated in the area next to the tent just inside the main body of the building. The banquet menu includes three courses: salad, entree and dessert. The entree options include meat, chicken, fish and vegetarian dishes, but the Waterfront is primarily known for its fish. The banquet price of $60 includes transportation but does not include any drinks. It is recommended that beverages be purchased through the restaurant. The Waterfront charges a $20 corkage fee for bringing your own wine.
