Instructions for Authors

The authors of accepted submissions must submit their papers in TWO versions: an electronic version, either in PDF or RTF (MS-Word) format, and a camera-ready printed manuscript. Both must reach the Program Chair NO LATER THAN July 31, 2003. The electronic version should be sent as an email attachment to: mtix @iro.umontreal.ca . (Please include your MT Summit submission number in the subject field.) The camera-ready printed manuscript should be mailed, or preferably sent by messenger service, to the following address:

Elliott Macklovitch
Program Chair, MT Summit IX
RALI-DIRO, Universite de Montreal
Pavillon Andre-Aisenstadt, #2241
2920, chemin de la Tour
Montreal (QC) H3T 1J8
Canada

The two files given below provide basic formatting guidelines and serve as an illustration of how your manuscript should look when it is printed. It is the author's  responsibility to ensure that both the printed manuscript and the electronic version conform to these guidelines. Sorry, but we cannot provide a Latex style file.

NB: The guidelines now contain additional information for people who cannot obtain US-letter size paper; see the italicized portions in Section 2 and Sub-section 2.2.

Instructions for Speakers

There will be three parallel sessions at MT Summit IX: one room will be reserved for system presentations and two rooms for user studies and research papers. All speakers will be allotted 20 minutes for their presentation, plus 5 minutes for questions. (We will also allow a few minutes for people to move from room to another.)

Each room will be equipped with a data projector and a screen. We expect that most speakers will bring their own laptop to the conference and use it to make their presentation. For those who won’t be bringing a laptop, there will also be an overhead projector in each room, which can be used for transparencies. (Even if you do intend to bring a laptop, we suggest that you also prepare a set of transparencies, as an emergency back-up.)

There will be a high-speed internet connection in the room in which the system presentations will be given, though not in the other two rooms.

Should you have any special needs in the way of audio-visual equipment, or any other questions regarding your presentation, feel free to contact the Program Chair at mtix@iro.umontreal.ca
